REACH Achievments:
- Representing 548 beds at present
- Excellent speakers from State Licensing, OSHA, Employment Laws, Wholesale Vendors, Ombudsman, etc.
- REACH membership list that is used by Ombudsman, Golden Umbrella, Discharge Planners, Members, etc.
- As an organization, we are able to overturn commercial rates to 6 bed homes that were charged by the City of Redding Utility Company.
- Josie Furniss and Carol Erickson represented REACH when going to the state capitol to passionately request a stay on the new law regarding "transfer dependant" residents being taken out of RCFE. It was stopped 2 days later.
- State Licensing recognizes the value of REACH getting new information out to its members.
- Networking and learning new ideas from each other.
- Public Relations person representing 533 beds locally has more respect than individual care homes. The six bed homes have the most to gain in being a member.
- Sponsored continuing education classes.
- REACH member tours with several medical personnel attending. Very successful.
- REACH booth at 2 shows at Civic Auditorium, 2 at Mt. Shasta Mall, and 1 booth at the County Fair.
- Two special REACH evening dinners with great entertainers. These were evenings to honor and encourage all administrators.
- REACH has found several wholesale companies who have become vendors to many members. They have come and shared at our meetings.
