REACH Achievments: Representing 548 beds at present Excellent speakers from State Licensing, OSHA, Employment Laws, Wholesale Vendors, Ombudsman, etc. REACH membership list that is used by Ombudsman, Golden Umbrella, Discharge Planners, Members, etc. As an organization, we are able to overturn commercial rates to 6 bed homes that were charged by the City of Redding Utility Company. Josie Furniss and Carol Erickson represented REACH when going to the state capitol to passionately request a stay on the new law regarding "transfer dependant" residents being taken out of RCFE. It was stopped 2 days later. State Licensing recognizes the value of REACH getting new information out to its members. Networking and learning new ideas from each other. Public Relations person representing 533 beds locally has more respect than individual care homes. The six bed homes have the most to gain in being a member. Sponsored continuing education classes. REACH member tours with several medical personnel attending. Very successful. REACH booth at 2 shows at Civic Auditorium, 2 at Mt. Shasta Mall, and 1 booth at the County Fair. Two special REACH evening dinners with great entertainers. These were evenings to honor and encourage all administrators. REACH has found several wholesale companies who have become vendors to many members. They have come and shared at our meetings.
